From end of November to beginning of December, Montreux becomes the French-speaking capital of laughter. The top comedy festival in French-speaking Switzerland, the Montreux Comedy Festival organises gala evenings which are screened on most Swiss and French television stations.

The Montreux Comedy Festival attracts the biggest names in French comedy to the shores of Lake Geneva for four days of top shows in the 2m2c Stravinski Auditorium. On a more intimate stage, upcoming talents – often spotted by French television stations or on-line – perform in the Montreux Comedy Club. The programme of this event dedicated to laughter also includes screenings in the Montreux cinema and web conferences and programmes. Increasingly focused on international comedy, the Montreux Comedy Festival includes shows in English every year and its “Montreux Comedy” evenings are exported all over the world.
